Ethical Employment Is Non-Negotiable

TAT WIN's commitment to worker rights is grounded in international standards: the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGP), the International Labour Organization conventions, and the Employer Pays Principle.

We don't just comply with local labour laws. We exceed them — because the people who work on our plantations and in our facilities deserve respect, fair compensation, and a safe workplace.

Our Core Principles

Zero Forced Labour

We have zero tolerance for forced labour, bonded labour, or any form of labour coercion. Workers have the right to freely choose their employment and leave at any time.

No Child Labour

Children belong in school, not in fields or factories. We comply with all international standards on minimum working age and ensure no child labour exists in our supply chain.

Fair Wages

Workers earn at least the legal minimum wage, plus additional compensation that reflects fair market rates for their labour. Wages are paid regularly and in full.

Safe Working Conditions

Our facilities and those of our suppliers maintain safe, healthy working conditions. This includes proper equipment, safety training, and regular inspections.

Freedom of Association

Workers have the right to join unions, form associations, and collectively negotiate. We do not interfere with these rights.

No Discrimination

We do not discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, political affiliation, or any other characteristic unrelated to job performance.

Policy Development

We have documented, UNGP-aligned policies on labour rights, wages, working conditions, and grievance mechanisms. These policies are communicated to all employees and suppliers.

Supplier Audits

We conduct regular audits of all suppliers and farming partners to verify compliance with our labour standards. Audits are conducted by both internal teams and third-party verifiers.

Worker Training

All workers receive training on their rights, safety protocols, and grievance procedures. They understand what they're entitled to and how to report violations.

Grievance Mechanisms

Workers have multiple channels to report concerns: direct to management, through union representatives, or via anonymous hotlines. All grievances are investigated and resolved.

Continuous Monitoring

We maintain ongoing monitoring programs to ensure compliance. Red flags trigger immediate investigation and corrective action.

Third-Party Verification

We partner with external organizations like Quizrr for independent validation of our labour practices. External verification ensures credibility.

Employer Pays Principle (EPP)

We are committed to the Employer Pays Principle, which ensures workers never bear the cost of recruitment or employment. This eliminates one of the most common mechanisms of labour trafficking and exploitation.

  • No document confiscation or wage deductions for recruitment
  • Clear employment contracts in worker's native language
  • Workers understand their rights before accepting employment

Independent Verification

Our labour practices are independently verified by third parties, ensuring they're not just self-proclaimed.

SEDEX

TAT WIN maintains SEDEX membership and conducts regular self-assessments against SEDEX standards for labour practices, health & safety, and ethics.

Quizrr Partnership

We work with Quizrr, an independent labour standards verification platform, for third-party assessment of worker conditions and grievance mechanisms.

ISO 45001

Our Occupational Health & Safety Management System is ISO 45001 certified, ensuring systematic approach to worker safety.

Regular Audits

Independent auditors conduct unannounced inspections of our facilities and supplier operations to verify ongoing compliance.
